How to Draw Kim Possible

Colored Kim Possible
Howdy!
Let's draw Kim Possible together. She is an average girl that saves the world as a secret agent on the side, while actually being a cheerleader and a student.
Since she is a very skilled fighter, we are going to draw her in such a karate stance, striking fear and terror in the hearts of all evil doers around the world. And of course she is wearing her special agent outfit.

So let's begin!

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 1: Simplified Skeleton

First we draw a simplified skeleton. Basically, it is just a stick figure over which we'll add the full body of Kim later.

Skeleton Step 1
Start with a big circle for Kim's head.
Draw a long line coming out of the circle's bottom and going slightly towards the right. Think of this line as her spine. It should reach down about one and a half heads, as the pale red lines indicate.

Skeleton Step 2
Now add a box for the pelvic bone at the end of the spine line.
Let Kim's legs grow out of the bottom of this box.
Use small circles to show where the movable joints of her legs are.

The red lines in the picture have the width of Kim's head. As you can see, the distance between the joints is always about one head long.
Use this as a guideline, but don't get too precise with it.

Skeleton Step 3

To finish the skeleton, draw in the lines for arms and hands.
Draw one hand as a circle, since it's going to be a fist.
I added the red lines for orientation again.

And that's already the entire skeleton.
Now we can use it to draw Kim's body on top of it.

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 2: Kim's Body

Kim's Torso
Start with Kim's torso.
Draw it all the way down to the pelvic bone in the way the red arrows indicate.

Legs and Feet
Since Kim is wearing her wide special agent pants, you can draw in the legs loosely with long flowing lines.
Add the feet to their ends afterwards.
Arms and Hands

Draw Kim's arms and hands around the "bones" in this step.
Leave the hands as simple shapes for now.
The full hands are a bit more complex and we'll complete them in several steps later.

With that, the main shape of Kim's body is complete.
You can now carefully erase the skeleton, since we won't need it in the next steps.

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 3: Haircut

It's time to bring out Kim's unique features.
Kim's Bangs
Prepare Kim's bangs and the divide in her hair with a few lines along the head.

Full Hair

Now you can add her full, huge, flying mane of hair.
Watch out that you don't forget that little spot where the hair shows below her arm.

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 4: Head Details

Alright, let's get to Kim's face. Draw it very carefully.
Very subtle changes in the position of eyes and eyebrows can have a large effect on Kim's expression.
So don't be afraid to erase and redraw something if it looks awkward after the first try. I did that a few times, too.
Keep drawing lightly, then it'll be easier.

Kim's head is finished and we turn to Kim's clothes in the next steps.

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 5: Top and Gloves

Kim's Top

To draw Kim's top is very simple. You just have to draw separating lines on the throat, the arms, and above her belly.
This is also the time to erase the parts of her torso where it is covered by the arm or hand, if you haven't done so already.

Hands Step 1
Draw in the sleeves for her gloves above the wrists, and then you are ready to finally draw in the full hands.

Since the many fingers can make it a little bit confusing, I recommend that you draw the hands in these two simpler steps:

Hands Step 2

Hands Step 3

Wow, we're almost done!
All that is missing now are Kim's pants.

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 6: Pants

Belt and Pants
Start by drawing in Kim's belly button and the upper edge of her pants.
Closely look how it curves behind her back at the left side.
Her pants are always a bit too large for her, and I guess that is one of the reasons why she needs a belt.

So quickly add the belt afterwards, before the pants slide down to her ankles and embarrass her. Oh, but as long she is lifting one of her legs like that, this won't happen anyway.

Kim's Pockets
Kim needs a lot of pockets for her high-tech secret agent equipment.
To provide them, divide the girdle into several small blocks and add a big pocket at the side.

Even more pockets
Now turn the blocks of the belt into small pockets by drawing in a triangle at their top, and adding a button in it's middle.
One block is reserved for the pants button. Draw a slightly curved square below this block. This is where the pants can be opened and closed.

Finally, add two more flat pockets at the sides of her legs and you have finished your Kim Possible!
Congratulations!

How to Draw Kim Possible - Step 7: Coloring and/or Inking
Finished Kim Possible DrawingInked Kim Possible Drawing

So now it's up to you what you want to do with your Kim Possible drawing.
You can just keep it as it is, or you can draw in a background, or an opponent Kim is fighting against (in case you still have enough room on your paper).

You can also ink and color your drawing.
But be very careful when you draw with a black pen over the pencil lines, because you can't erase the black lines again!
If you are savvy, you can also scan your pencil drawing and do the inking and coloring in software.

Either way, the evil Doctor Drakken and other villains will have to watch out now, because Kim is going to teach them a lesson.
That much is certain!
